The Integrity Project
The Integrity Project is pleased to announce the selection of Kiera Dunlevy and Riyan Barnett as our 2026-27 J. Blackbourn Media Interns. This talented duo continues a tradition of media innovation in the fight against misinformation, developing informative Facebook and Instagram reels, social media posts on the latest mis- and disinformation news, media literacy research, among other projects.
“These two future communications leaders already have a solid grasp of the challenges and complexities of misinformation and its impacts on our society,” says Joe Blackbourn, Chairman of The Integrity Project. “We endeavor to find the best of the best interns each year and we received hundreds of applicants, which I think should speak to their intellect, curiosity and passion for the subject matter. We are quite fortunate to have them on our team.”
Ms. Barnett is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in News Media at The University of Alabama, where she is recognized for her exemplary academic record and inclusion on the President’s List. She serves as Vice President of Kappa Tau Alpha Honor Society and as Parliamentarian of her chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Beyond her academic and leadership involvement, she contributes to Crimson Tide Productions, creating sports promotional content for the University of Alabama Athletics and supporting broadcasts for the SEC Network.
Ms. Dunlevy is a senior at Boston University, where she double majors in Advertising and Film & TV in the College of Communication. She blends strategic thinking with creative storytelling, drawing on diverse interests which she has applied to opportunities with GEM Creative in London, Tremolo Productions in Los Angeles and BU's AdLab. She's also an editor at The Buzz Magazine, a student-led lifestyle publication at BU.
Many congratulations to Kiera and Riyan!
