The killing of political activist Charlie Kirk was followed almost immediately by a flood of misinformation and graphic content online. Northeastern University professor Laura Edelson, who is a member of the Council on Responsible Social Media and teaches βThe Law, Ethics, and Policy of Data and Digital Technologies,β discusses whether the spread of misinformation is an unavoidable feature of the internet or if something can be done to stop it.
